Our Mission
Singapore
Anglican Community Services (previously known as Singapore
Anglican Welfare Council) reaches out to people in need, with
the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We provide refuge and relief for the psychiatrically disabled
and people in crises.
We aim to be an excellent caring Christian welfare
organization effectively accomplishing the total
rehabilitation of those under our care.
Who are we?
Singapore Anglican Community Services is a subsidiary organization of the Anglican Diocese of Singapore and an affiliate of the National Council of Social Service. SACS is managed by a dedicated team of professional volunteers and staff, including psychiatrists and rehabilitation counselors.
Currently
it operates one crisis shelter, St. George's Place and two mental
health rehabilitation centres, Simei Care Centre and Hougang Care Centre.
What we do?
In our crisis shelter, SGP provides refuge and counseling for families in crises, battered wives, single parents and their children. For the psychiatrically ill and emotionally disturbed, the two mental health centres help clients to regain their confidence through the provision of
counseling, spiritual devotion, work therapy and vocational training.
SACS also organises public seminars and exhibitions to raise public awareness of the problems faced by the psychiatrically disabled and of people who meet crises in their lives. In-house training are provided for staff and volunteers to provide our best support and services to the needy.
Our Motto
To Counsel, to Restore and to Equip.
